Honorary Pony: Santa Claus

Ol' Saint Nick did his job this year, spreading the good news of all things SMU throughout Texas.

Two old SMU friends had a son this year, and because they now live in Round Rock (both did grad work at uTexas), that poor kid is up to his drool bib in burnt orange gear. Poor kid doesn't have a chance. Until SMU Santa sent a Christmas package, complete with a bunch of SMU stuff. And sure enough, Junior seems to like the red and blue stuff, or so says his old man.

Another couple of friends are both Aggies, but they're real cool anyways. They have three kids who face a similar fate to the one facing Junior in Round Rock - not nearly enough SMU stuff to grow up around. There's silly-looking Aggie stuff all over that house, and they live in Dallas. Aggie stuff in Dallas? That's WRONG! The oldest two are twins (5 years old), and bingo - they like horses. There new SMU stuff is at the top of there daily list of stuff to wear. There mom says it's going to be tough getting them out of the SMU stuff long enough to wash it.

Both sets of parents have been told that Santa is landing on their rooftop each year with a sleigh full of SMU gear. Spoil your friends kids with SMU stuff. Helps make more PonyFans.

Good plan RRP! Burnt orange and maroon....does it get any uglier than that...oh wait, froggie purple!!!
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
