SMUs may or may not be pretty. That is a matter of taste. But my guess is that you will not be able to distinguish it from the other buildings on campus.

I've also seen many comments about how ugly UH's IPF is.

So can you give me an example of an attractive IPF? Are all of them ugly except the one SMU had planned to build?

Houston is worried about winning New Year's Six bowls and having facilities that are fully functional to train elite athletes.

We are worried about looking nice.

We're paying Dykes top five G5 head coach money. In addition, we've doubled the pool for assistants meaning we will have one of the highest paid G5 coaching staffs in the country (higher than some P5's). We have two experienced coordinators and not a GA and position coach that are both in over their heads. None of this is difficult to get but hey...this is PF.

They're not purchasing the land.......why would it be? The project costs twice as much for those crazy expensive University Park permit fees? Only union labor allowed to work in University park? Concrete and steel cost more in University Park than in Denton? Stop

lol.

It isn't just the cost of raw materials and construction. Bricking everything in combination with the site improvements (i.e. removal and remediation of the outdoor pool and preparation for new construction) and yes...everything associated with construction at SMU is going to be more expensive than operating on an empty dirt patch in Denton.

Houston should worry about beating Tulane.

There apparently is something about an IPF that is like a bug light - it draws stupid people to the light.

Ill keep this simple - these numbers have been circulating amongst those that have been asked to help.
Previous IPF - 50M - included 10M to move soccer and an extra 10M to include a huge indoor track that is not typical
Present IPF - due to new (not secret) location decision and elimination of the track, now costs just under 30M.

Both smart moves. Yeah team. Been working on it a long time - so there is no urgency caused by anything done by a junior college not even in our conference who we don't recruit against. If anyone caused pressure it would be UH, who we do compete with for players.

Next issue.

That one is exceptionally ugly.

An attractive IPF? That would be like asking what is the prettiest building on cougar college campus. There is none. Have to argue about which is the most hideous.

At least we're beating our P5 opponents, packed crowds, an IPF that actually exists, putting guys in the NFL and Herman left us with an NY6 win while Morris left y'all with no P5 wins, almost no NFL picks and no NY6 wins, empty stadiums conference championships or an above 500 record. (Pot meet kettle)

Your crowds are not packed, I went to the SMU game and the Memphis game and neither was close to full capacity. Good attendance and better than SMU yes but you are loose with your facts. SMU has several current NFL players including pro-bowlers and a prominent player on a Super Bowl champion. In addition we will have a first round pick this year as well as 2 other likely draftees. Believe me, there is plenty to be said about SMU no need to look like an idiot by bringing up falsehoods.

Might be a good idea if it wasn't for the H.P./U.P. ordinance against any structure exceeding the height of the steeple at H.P. Methodist. As I recall, that was why they had to sink Ford to begin with.
