Supplements

Postby giacfsp » Fri Apr 11, 2003 1:29 pm

In the Sports Illustrated article someone references on this site, Coach Faucette said that when he was at UT, they had a budget of $200,000 for supplements. Certainly we don't have the same budget they do, and he said he can defray the cost of supplements by endorsing a product or through some appearances on behalf of the supplement companies.

Does anyone know how much SMU spends on supplements? Or what kind of supplements our athletes take?

$200,000 sounds a little skimpy. That must just be for football. The UT athletic department has got to spend more than that for all athletics.

Skimpy? Sounds like a hell of a lot of protien shakes, if you ask me.
Then again, I have no idea how much they cost, or how often they're consumed.
Still sounds like a lot.
