Tulane Remains Division 1-A*nm
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris
When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Tulane Remains Division 1-A*That's one prediction down, 3 to go.
Re: Tulane Remains Division 1-A*I think it will be too difficult to drop out of DI, especially given the 11k+ season ticket sales, the 27k+ in average attendance last year, plus the bowl win.
I say they offer a life-line, but in doing so place conditions on the program that will make it difficult to recruit and therefore will lead to Tulane’s ultimate demise. That’s my vote.
Re: Tulane Remains Division 1-A*Congratulations to our New Orleans bretheren.
Re: Tulane Remains Division 1-A*I take that as good news for SMU for a couple reasons. First, it avoids precedent being set or implied that a small, private school in the south can thrive without athletics. Second, Tulane would be a great member of any regional league that falls out of the realignment. Third, if Tulane fell by the wayside, I think it would have been increasingly possible that CUSA could have been the survivor of the BE/CUSA merger because they wouldnt have had to kick out members.
Re: Tulane Remains Division 1-A*...there's STILL a little issue called a deficit that needs to be addressed....is anyone surprised by the vote? NOW, whatcha' goin' to do, fellas....?????
