NEW TURF: FIRST GAME!

Postby MrMustang1965 » Fri Sep 19, 2003 3:42 pm

After all the hoopla over the new turf being installed, I'm surprised no one's mentioned that this will be the VERY FIRST GAME for the Mustangs to play on it! For those of you who will be watching on TV, I'll be interested to hear/see what you think of its appearance on the tube. Will the color(s) be what you were expecting? Will the Mustangs run faster on it? How will it affect OSU's play? Your thoughts?

OSU plays on very similar turf at Boone Pickens Stadium, so it really shouldn't affect the 'Pokes at all.
Unfortunately.
The field has had two HS games played on it, and drew rave reviews.

It sure as hell beats Ownby's turf. That stuff was hard and cheap. And when it rained, it was like oil on a skating rink. Hope it serves us (and not them) well.

Really? Which two games were played there?

Garland/DeSoto and Stephenville/Highland Park last week in the Tom Landry Classic. (Ran into their traffic when heading to last weekend's men's soccer tournament.) I gather the players really liked the playing surface.
