Well, spin it however you like, but TCU had conflicts with the date, so it turned down the bowl b/c it had other options. Those options included playing one of the best teams in the country in a bowl where the local community will be there to see TCU play.

I'm sure SMU would love to be in that situation as well. Taking on Boise is no different (actually looks better since they've been good for four years running) than playing Miami, OH. Acting like it is, is just sour grapes.

Ok, first off, you're an idiot. I don't see how you can be studying so hard for finals when you're carefully critique-ing our posts. I thought academics were important at TCUseless.

2) This ain't an english class. Guess what? NO ONE BUT YOU CARES IF WE SPELL THINGS WRONG!!!

3) He meant Meat. Like the was I'm gonna meat your mother later tonight, [deleted] bag.

What happens when your meat meets his mother?

CUSA had to deal with placing UH, UL, TCU, UC and USM in a bowl. They had a pecking order established. The problem was that Mobile and more likely ESPN wanted the mini-major match-up of two Top 20 teams. Mobile forced it for that reason, otherwise they probably preferred Louisville which is closer with a larger fan base. Don't blame the conference, it was trying to make sure five teams went bowling and they ultimately did. But give real credit to Benson of the WAC for getting Tulsa/Fresno into a bowl. He could have stiffed Tulsa (after all they're leaving), but he didn't.

Hey spell-check guido dude - you know someone is out of gas on a thread when they play "Miss Fusspucker the English teacher". Try to raise the maturity level, or at minimum be original.

By the way F-style - I agree with you that those around here that are happy at TCU's plight (and No matter how you spin it - 11-1 should get you better then Ft Worth) are not thinking very clearly - If we are fortunate enough to turn it around (and we are on our way if you look at our last two classes) - this exact thing will happen to us because of the BCS mess - there are 6-6 and 7-5 BCS teams going to much better bowls then TCU - We all need to stop sniping at each other, desperately switching conferences trying to find a hole into the BCS party, making up reasons to stay closer to home so you don't lose money on your bowl after going 11-1 - and just sue the BCS bastards.

nice post sucka !

TCU (and the Ft. Worth Sports freaks) should stop complaining about CUSA (or the WAC or the MWC) and focus on the fact that a team like UCLA can drop its last four games, go 6-6 and will be BOWLING this year - while the other teams fight for scraps !

It is these silly Bowl tie-ins that keep tcu you out and let UCLA in probably create the NEED for the Houston bowl or the Ft. Worth bowl. The bowls used to JUST recognize the teams that had great seasons. Now they are just another game for the big conferences... and the little conferences have to start new bowls just so a 9+ win season can still mean something

all this whining is total b.s. why can't the author appreciate the fact that TCU got the game it wanted (or at least what they want the world to believe they wanted) and that is to play the highest ranked team available. kudos to Boise State for having the 'nads to take a road game against one of the top non-bcs schools in the country and allow this match-up to occur. Could turn out to be one of the better bowl games. Oh, and for my money, Houston-Hawaii will be a very exciting match-up as well. 1st team to 50 pts wins!
