Well known trivia actually for most SMU fans.. but very cool to hear Haden Fry tell it since he was there. Someone needs to get that posted on ponyfans website to add a bit of credibility to what some have always said.. oh that's just a legend.

Listen to Dickerson's interview...pretty straight talk...a losing program would never be tolerated at any other major school, etc...it is not the death penalty but the leadership at the top!

Kenny Hand is one of the better sports broadcast journalists in the southwest. I always enjoyed his reports on KTRH-AM Newsradio in Houston. Unlike most sports reporters, Kenny lets the person being interviewed 'tell the story'. Nice report with Hayden Fry. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, kramesman. :D

Anybody have any idea on the whereabouts of the car that Coach Fry received from Ford? If that car still exists, that would be a great piece of history for the University to have if one of the Mustang faithful could get their hands on it.

as for what Fry said, this removes all 'suspicion' about the history behind the car's name -

FINALLY!!!

WE FINALLY HAVE IT ON TAPE!!!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
