Anyone have the time to run it down for us? Was it pretty much the SOS? Anything new?

I am sure there was a full report of today's Luncheon on the Baylor message board this morning. Undoubtedly, it goes into great detail on how Bennett announced they only have two offensive plays and McMurtrey can't kick it over the center's backside.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Oakley gave a great pre-meal prayer before turning the mike over to Roger.

Fantastic.
Fun
I can not wait for Sept. 3rd.

Roger was cool and he does care for SMU. Except if we play Navy.

Bamba is still a project for now. We still need more DT's but the offense should be better with two experienced QB's.

The beverage of choice was obviously Kool-Aid.

The players who sat at my table must have also been inbibing in the Kool-Aid. They were pretty stoked about the season.

I have not seen that many big players at SMU since I was a student. That was a pleasant surprise. They have also been spending some time in the weight room. They may not be the most highly recruited players in the state, but at least we are starting to have players that "look" like football players.

I am not a Kool-aid drinker as I have been an SMU fan for a LONG time. It has been a long time since I was on the mountain. We will beat Baylor. Even with our two plays and our kicker placing the ball squarely in the center's butt.

Kinda, he's moved to defensive tackle and will be returning punts as well.

You have it wrong.

He is deep snapper for field goals.

Throwing the ball is OK but still working on the catching part.

I still say that the image of a 7 foot punt returner is something to behold.

No wonder the placekicker keeps kicking the ball into Bamba's 7 foot Butt. I think we've solved that problem.

Sorry Lepe - Wish you could have been with us. The Chicken Marsala was not bad if you put salt and pepper on it.

Bamba should be moved to punt block team.

How about a goal-line offense with Bamba Fall at WR? You could have Kennedy and Chase in a 2-TE set, with Fall, Bobby Chase and Pellerin at WR -- no RBs. If there's a secondary out there that could send enough DBs out to win the jumpballs in that scheme, I'd like to see it. (Actually I wouldn't.)

I haven't seen that many reporters and cameras at an SMU sponsored event in AGES! Of course, they weren't really there to cover SMU but to talk to the keynote speaker Roger Staubach about his financial interest in a race car team. However, it will be interesting to see how much (if any) of today's event makes the sportscasts tonight. I spoke with a Ft. Worth Star-Telegram photographer afterwards who wanted to know how to get a copy of the SMU team roster so that he could properly identify the Mustang players whose pics he took.

I'd like to say a big 'thanks!' publicly to all the folks at the Special Delivery table who made me feel very welcome!

Speeches by the C-USA commissioner, SMU's president, SMU's AD, SMU's head football coach and Staubach. Thank goodness each of them (save for Staubach) didn't ramble to any great length. It appears each of them 'stuck to the script'.

Oh, yeah...the dayplanners that everyone received look great with the Mustang on the cover. Nice. 8)
