Mexmustang-

Your "All Decade Teams" are not a bad idea.

Look at the history notes in the official sports website for starters. Certainly there are names there, from the twenties and thirties, worthy of consideration if the "Ring of Honor" is ever established, as well as for other laurels.

Don meredith without a doubt! I was priviledged to see all the players from 1954 on. I never saw Rote or Walker. But Meredith had the ability to bring the crowd to its feet every play. I have never seen a more exciting player, including Dickerson, James, Levias, Hixson etc. Gee, those guys sure were good too tho, especially Levias.

Three other names to consider, Arthur Wittington, Jerry Ball, and Oscar Roan. Oscar was an All American tight end and played basketball for SMU. Arthur Wittington was one of the best clutch kick-returners I ever saw. Jerry Ball was an All-American, All-Pro nose tackle.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Alright...how about Gerry Mays? I'm not sure what all he did exactly while at SMU, but he had a good long career in the Pros, a true supporter of SMU football and was one hell of a nice guy.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

No question, a lot of great Mustangs have been mentioned here. But my vote goes with the originator of this thread. Doak Walker was an all around great athlete who could play just about any position on the field, offense or defense.

Tough choices given the changes in the game over the years, but until someone impacts the program to the extent of one person, the greatest is, of course, Doak. I did name my son after the man.

Paul Wiley, AKA "P-Train!"
and in a close second
Jon Randolph AKA "P-Trolley"

Dear Mr. Informant:
From the four posts I have seen you make on this sight, it has become apparent to me that either your somebodies friend who is playing a joke or your completely stupid. Either way, I think most PonyFans will realize that you don't know what you are talking about.

SHAQ,

First off, great to see we have some famous LA sports stars on the board. Didn't realize you are from DC.

Next, I was a big fan of the P-Train and P-Trolley. They were two walk ons that busted their [deleted] every day in practice to make others better. I was just giving them a shout on the message board. So in layman's terms, it was a stupid joke. So a combination of your analysis.

Now, if you look at my posts discrediting jc500, on the bball board, you will see that I indeed do know what I am talking about. We don't have to be brilliant and serious ALL of the time, do we?

In fact, I would like for you, SHAQ, to take back the comment about me not knowing what I am talking about. It will hurt in the long run.

Later, and from now on I will preface all of my stupid-jokes with THIS IS A STUPID JOKE.
