We'll either be king of the midgets, or midgets among kings.

A man said to me one day, some people don't like you, I said, yeah, but at least everyone knows me.

Let me preface this post. I do not believe this will happen, but...

Why not the ACC? So the scenario goes SEC raids B12 and ACC. B12 back fills with ND (pipe dream) BYU, or UH stays at 10 or goes to 12 with some other combination, we are left out. Everyone assumes ACC raids BE. If I'm the ACC why not try a maneuver like the BE did with TCU? Move to a new market, in another part of the country and a big market in DFW. SMU would fit in size, athletics and academics with the other private schools that are in the ACC already. It would provide the ACC with a based to recruit Texas from and add television sets. Just a thought.

My honest opinion. We are going to see either 4-20 team conferences or 5-16. They can't stop at 4-16, leaves out too many teams that are state universities. We are going to get lucky (I'm a glass half full kind of a guy) and squeeze into one of the last spots. Personally don't care where. Then in 10-15 years college football will fundamentally change and appear more and more like a minor league for the NFL. I will begin to care less and less about college football and because I care less, college football will less important to everyone else as well. (Yep. My opinion matters that much.)

And it appears we are somewhat of a dwarf among midgets. We aren't good, but we've got some swagger and momentum rolling in the right direction.

Almost. Don't think any of us would have seen this Big 12.

Disappointed to remember that this was a conference realignment thread. I was hoping it was more focused on predictions about the quality of the football and basketball teams in four years.

In 2011, JJ was looking to bolt, but none of us knew that until around the holiday season. He had the Pitt bowl win and the Fresno State bowl win in his future. He flat out stopped recruiting for the 2012 and subsequent classes.

Basketball, there is no way for the 2011 me to have hoped for where we are four years later.
