Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention.Maybe Rich Phillips can work on the lawn and make it better.

Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention.TAKE THE TREES OUT in the Bishop median
They were planted during my first year at SMU, and my first friend in the freshman dorm Morrison actually broke one of them by accident. Anyway they grew up to take out a TRULY MAGNIFICENT VIEW of Dallas Hall from Mockingbird that I think our founders wanted May the forth be with us.
Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention. That would screw up our "tree-lined campus" promos
Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention. If they trimmed the canopies of the tree's up...the grass area would get more sun and the grass would grow much better. #greenthumb
Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention.Grass doesn't grow under heavily shaded areas You wanna pay for sprinkler systems, and
major league arborist control of the trees for grass to grow I say nuke them for the view of Dallas Hall as our founders wanted May the forth be with us.
Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention.BTW my trip to the SMU Bookstore resulted in an SMU hat I can wear proudly.

Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention.
Those trees are worth $1,000 per caliper inch...to nuke them would be many, many hundreds of thousands of dollars in DAMAGES, not improvements. And SMU does have a landscaping budget.
Re: (SID) The Blvd grass needs attention.Yes Scott I agree, we should keep the trees, but just do a better job with the grass. Professionals could get that grass in better shape with various varieties of grass. Yes the trees block the view of Dallas Hall, but they are pretty. Just wish it would have looked like this today. How could the grass look so good in the picture if the trees/shade was the only problem?
