True, plenty of near misses. I think BIlly Donovan accepted and retracted a job within a week.

what in the hell was Bill McCartney thinking. Did he not meet Kenneth Pye until the very end of negotiations.

The former Creighton coach whose name escapes me accepted Arkansas. Came to the announcement press conference, and the next day changed his mind. I do not think he liked the calling of the hogs.

CenTxPony, blackoutpony: this bet is similar to the one we have. We doubled down so if Morris does indeed come to SMU, I would be satisfied with not owing anything on the previous bet and you leaving me alone in the forum and admitting I was right all along.

Big news. At the basketball game my buddy was bet a beer by the rest of us that he wouldn't walk up to rick hart introduce himself and and ask him if chad morris was the next head coach. Rick hart started talking to some guy in front of the student section. So my buddy did it. He walks up to rick hart and asked him. Rick Hart told him that he should go back and tell his friends that actually the number one candidate is Nick Saban, and he really thinks that is going to be the guy.

You heard it here first pony fans. Nick Saban to SMU next week, done deal. hahaha I like rick hart he is a cool guy.

We all kinda thought it was more of "Im not telling you anything cuz your a drunk [deleted] college kid" But he was laughing and meant it as a joke. We understood it is as he just threw out the most impossible name ever because he thought some college kids would get a kick out of it and know he was joking.

I understand that our AD was trying to be cute but if I were an adult alum I would have taken that answer as a bit of a smart-ass response. Different if it were a student.

Perhaps a more appropriate question would have been ' how is the coaching search going and have we locked in on one particular coach'. Then of course there could have been some follow up questions.
