I remember that season. I wanted Pearce to beat Lake Highlands in the regular season final game but LH won 16-6. Pearce finished 8-1-1 and had to beat LH to go to the playoffs in the last year that one team per district went to the playoffs. I thought it was cool though when LH won state because it made our district look good.
My mom's dad and I listened to LH beat Houston Yates 19 - 6 on the radio while sitting outside on the front porch at his house in Plano. That was a fun memory.
