i think it was JJ's guilty conscience that kept him awake at night. guilt from stealing from the CoC.

i'm more concerned about potential NCAA violations. we were paying a guy $2 million that basically had a no-show job.

Actually, the thought of how bad the players on SMU's roster for the 2014 season must have looked in Fall practice would likely keep any College coach awake at nite. Probably knew he was going from the step down program of the last 3 seasons to a fall off the cliff season in 2014.

Fact Check Determination: True

That could be the case.

SMT zeroes in. Maybe we learn that he conferred with Tom Cruise about D and John Travolta on O.

He really has some nerve. Throw SMU under the bus when they're still paying you. His excuse of "personal reasons" was always complete BS. He's all of a sudden better and now trying to pin the blame on SMU. It's not surprising he can't sleep at night.

Someone else indicated that we had stopped paying him, so he might not be under any obligation other than decent professional courtesy.

I don't think anything he says will hurt us. Or anything Dickerson says for that matter. What is really going to count is when the new guy talks to Larry and some of the players. If what Football Dad says is true (and no reason to believe it isn't), the academic friendly majors and availability of tutors will override any comments that June makes.

If, on the other hand, we do actually get turned down by Mack and some of the other big names that have been mentioned initially and have to settle for someone lower tier, then it might be worth an internal look to see if something IS actually still going on to keep us from succeeding at the level we all want to be.

we can't get turned down by mack since he has not and will not get an offer. That was considered and clearer heads have decided to go a different direction.

At schools like UT, the athletes have their own personal tutors who go to class and take notes for them. I don't think we are there yet.

Since when would a candidate be talking to Larry Brown and some of the players in a interview? So you are okay with what Jones said publicly while SMU is trying to get a new coach?

out of curiosity, what purpose does this serve? the athlete can't get attendance credit since he's not actually in the class. Separately, if he doesn't care enough to go class (unless he is traveling for the game) does anyone really think he will take the time to read the notes afterwards.

Oh, F U June.

I sure hope someone has alerted Hart & Turner to this nonsense. Get an SMU lawyer to immediately prepare and overnight a cease & STFU (desist) letter to this piece of work.

the only way to shut this a-hole up is for the next guy to come in and turn this thing around. Even if/when that happens, JJ doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who will ever admit to his shortcomings...but it might keep him from wanting to talk about it
