Bet Chad's unhappy with the administration dragging its feet on promises it made to upgrade the facilities and construct the IPF. Tech just recently completed one of the largest IPFs in the entire nation. Wouldn't blame Chad for bailing on an administration that isn't committed to winning at the highest levels.

That was something that everyone was expecting, nobody had a problem with.

This is something, if true, he wants to keep very, very quiet. Don't blame him a bit, but not real 'cool' if true.

right. V tech is in a horrible location for a texan and his family, and is down the list of schools Chad would be interested in, and he has a whopping 2 wins under his belt - and he is leaving? You guys need to come back down to earth.

While I don't think Chad will leave after 1 year-if you think that he couldn't easily get a P5 job just because he's 2-9-you're wrong. There are a lot of ADs around this Country who've done their homework and know that he checks off just about everything you want in a Head Coach. His reputation for hard work, recruiting and offensive performance are well established even in 10 months at SMU. He was a homerun hire last year and that's doesn't change just because he is diggin' out of a huge hole

My friends and family in Alabama seem to believe Bama will lose three of their assistant coaches to Va Tech, South Carolina, Illinois, or Maryland. Evidently agents have been surfacing from the deepest of caverns - God help them if Saban finds them on campus during season. I can see Smart with the Gamecocks, and Kiffin in Blacksburg.
