people seem to forget that he was only pulled when he lead the nation in turnovers including several Pick 6s. He was a turnover machine and SMU was like 0-5 or 0-6 and he was hitting on about 45% of his passes at the time. He was having a horrible season when he was benched especially with regard to turnovers. Then he decided he wanted to leave and wasn't up to competing for the job. He bailed-he failed to perform

No just the level of competition. He was great at d1aa.

He definitely sucked at SMU and then rocked in D2. Not sure who's to blame for either.

Is he a successful NFL QB? Well, he has stuck longer than most.

exactly my point. he is way below average by any metric, 35 years old and yet is still much desired. mind-blowing.

Maybe your paradigm is what's causing your mind to be blown. The NFL is not a charity. They only keep those who can genuinely play.

He won't kill you with stupid mistakes. He's like a poor man's Alex Smith. Game manager, nothing else.

And doing something that 98.4% of college footballers wish they could have. And that's 1.6% of college players even getting a taste of the NFL, much less hanging around for 12-13 years.
