Right, because Morris had NO IDEA how bad the SMU fanbase was before he took the job.
And do you honestly believe he saw SMU as a destination job? The man appears to have a plan and he is 2/3 of the way there: 1) return to Texas as a college head coach 2) demonstrate he can succeed as a college HC, i.e., win/improve a program and 3) get that head coaching job that allows you to recruit against anyone and compete for a national championship.
