Recruiting an active member of another team who's not on the portal is worse than "stealing recruits" out of HS.
According to a piece on ESPN from April, over 6000 players entered the transfer portal...2179 in December. Yet, SMU is the only school breaking some "unwritten rule"? Sounds like the 80's all over again.
I could care less if this kid transferred to SMU....he will probably leave SMU as soon as he doesn't get enough targets or as soon as a bigger offer arrives. That, unfortunately, is what college football has become. In the same way that players are always looking for the better offer, same goes with coaches, and for TCU to call out SMU over this is pure comedy after their handling of the Dykes fiasco.
We are in a new era where its apparently OK for a conference to openly campaign for the demise of another conference, hire a coach away during the season, etc., but when a kid transfers we throw a temper tantrum, pick up our toys and run home.
