Do you have a cite for the SMU boosters "haven't lifted a finger" to keep Chad Morris? No b/c you aren't in the inner circle so maybe pipe down there Todd Dodge.
The reality is that paying Chad Morris $5M before he even sniffs the top half of the AAC West is dangerous, irresponsible, and just flat out stupid. No other G5 program in the country would do it. Gary Patterson routinely had TCU in the Top 25 and competing for conference championships. Chad Morris is doing a good job so far but the comparison to Patterson is beyond silly.
SMU football has shown more commitment to its program than any other G5 (and some P5's). And yes using basketball to compare to football is laughable.

I really believe he stays now. Not going to get A&M job. And if he left it would really create problems for Chandler! Im sure Paula and Chandler wouldn't want to move from H. P. till after he graduates. Chad couldn't get back to watch him play on Friday nights! Money cant buy happiness! Also remember he didn't really pursue other jobs till his daughter graduated.

Yes I can cite the SMU announcement that said they "extended" his contract but didn't mention a salary increase-a fact that every school would want to publicize

Parking is way down the list of reasons why we're never going to build a fanbase.

SMU is a private school and doesn't publicly release contract information. Again, you don't know and to say they "didn't lift a finger" shows your true colors Dodge.

I don't know that SMU makes a practice of publicizing coaches salaries.
If it did, we would've heard about Janks pay bump after the interim tag was removed.

Arkansas just hires Tulsa’s AD for the same job. Now they get serious with a coach.
Here the word at Arkansas is:
1. Malzahn
2. Norvell
3. Venables or Morris (pickem)

Here's the statement that caused every news media outlet to run with the story on November 30, 2016. He mentions a full statement for later that night. No such statement was released which is confirmed by the list of official SID statements/press releases at smumustangs.com. In fact, the contract extension was not signed for many months--but you know that.

Again, as a private institution SMU does not have to publicly disclose raises or extensions. You have no idea. So either start giving the requisite $2M a year it takes to be in the Circle of Champions or stop babbling.

Obviously it is stupid to pay Chad Morris more money. That's why he isn't included in any of the media outlet's lists of top candidates...oh wait he is. That means his market price is now higher than typical G5. So to retain him you have to pay up to compete with the big boys. I don't understand why this is so difficult to comprehend.
If you want continuity in a program and believe in the system then you pay for it. Unless you don't believe or can't pay. If Chad leaves (not for Aggy) then it is probably on us.

Sat on our [deleted] huh? Nobody raised a finger I bet. Did they mistakenly follow the 1970s TCU Model rather than the 2000 TCU Model? I guess you are right the great SMU Football Boosters all died off. SMU2G5

Overpay for mediocre results? That's a great business plan. I'm shocked you're not a CEO.

As he spends his average 8 hours per day on message boards, Stallion tends to babble.

$5M for a coach that was three inches away from a 5th place finish in the AAC West.
And people wonder why companies go bankrupt.

You could view it is an overpayment but it's really just competing on the market. His equity price just rose. If you want to buy some CM stock better pony up the cash regardless of the actual immediate profitability. Surprised you can count.
