From your report on signing day in February....

"(ShanDerrick) Charles is a three-time All-District 20-4A selection and a three-time member of the Beaumont area Super Team. The diminutive back who has drawn comparisons to another successful running back from Port Arthur -- former NFL star Joe Washington -- rushed for a gaudy 3,995 yards and 42 touchdowns in his career at Lincoln, including 1,056 and 11 touchdowns as a senior, and 1,772 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior campaign. Called one of the state’s top 10 running backs by Lone Star Recruiting, Charles runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and was a member of the Longhorn Link Top 100. The versatile Charles also lettered in basketball, baseball and track.

'He has real good vision -- that’s probably his strongest asset,” Lincoln assistant coach Leroy Leopold said. “He has good strength, too -- a lot of power in those legs.’ ”

True - he DOES have great vision and tremendous power in his legs (see the four-yard touchdown run against UTEP where he pushed the pile into the end zone). Even Cavan and (RB coach) Randy Williams have said they're surprised by his power.

Nice work, PonyFans.com. You nailed the analysis on this kid.
