Walk-ons

Postby GrapevineMustang » Mon Aug 07, 2000 4:43 pm

It's great to hear there are so many walk-ons, especially if there are any linemen in the mix. I'd be interested to know how big, fast, etc., they are, where they're from -- that kind of thing.

Hopefully there's a kicker (or six) in the group. If nothing else, a little competition makes each player at a position better.

Any word on how many walk-ons are linemen (offensive or defensive)?

In PonyFanMan's practice write up, it said there are 5 O-lineman. I am not sure how many D-lineman we have, but I know there are 2-3 DE's.

I have culled these 5 names of walk-ons from various news articles and posts.

Keith Williams WR(?)
Ryan Wannemacher WR
Trent Stephenson K
Eric Neal OL
Some guy named Luter - don't know if that is first or last name OL

That makes 5, only 9 to go. And I too would be interested in knowing more about all the walk-ons. Maybe the PonyFans staff can come through with the info soon.

Brandon Luter is the O-lineman;s name.

Tomorrow is media day, and PonyFans.com is going to be there. PonyFans.com is going to compile information on all of the freshman. In the next couple of days, PonyFans can expect a freshman section. Here there will be(if possible) pictures, names, positions, hometowns, and sizes. Coach Cavan has a policy that freshman cannot talk to the media, so we are going to get any information from the school we can.

Please lookout for this feature in the up coming week.

One of the walk-ons names is Robby Presthus, he is the brother of former SMU standout goalie Tom Presthus who now plays for DC United. He is about 6-2, 210 and a great kid.

Yo Swann -

What position does Robby Presthus play? Got a scouting report on him?

He is currently at the U-back position(fullback/tight end).
