Remember this guy?

Postby PonyPride » Thu Jan 03, 2002 4:21 pm

Another guy who Cavan didn't offer a scholarship to -- former Colleyville Heritage RB Tellis Redmon -- is moving on. After a strong career at the University of Minnesota, he's entering the NFL Draft, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

He's the cousin of Jack Brewer, a former Pony who transferred to Minnesota. He's also thought to be a draftable player (was a WR at SMU, now a SS).

Why is it that Brewer left? Or that Redmon wasn't recruited?
Sounds like they can play.

Because Jack Brewer wanted every play to be pass play, so Jack Brewer could showcase Jack Brewer's skills as a WR to increase Jack Brewer's draft status. As you can see Jack Brewer is not in the NFL as a WR or a Safety.

Redmond, by all accounts, was a poor student (grades & test scores) at Grapevine. When he transferred to Colleyville-Heritage, both magically improved. Redmond and Brewer were a package deal. Brewer was unhappy with his own situation and that cous' wasn't being recruited by SMU. SMU wasn't about to touch Redmond with his scholactic phoenix act.

I can't imagine that a fine academic institution like Minnesota would accept him, but he is obviously a great student for them, regardless of any past or present academic scandals.

Didn't Minnesota's BBall team have serious problems with academic fraud just 3 years ago?
