What tournament is that? Do all schools do something like this? I would think coaches would be hesitant to let guys play other schools (if it's even legal), especially because of the possibility of injuries or showing an opponent what we have.

7 on 7

It was a player organized tournament its 7 on 7 do you really think a team could get an edge by playing 7 on 7. There is no coaching involved it was a player tournament. This was new this year it had no affiliation with anything it was just a chance for the players hard work that they have put in all year to pay off and have some fun. There were no coaches present so and it was a player run tournament which makes it perfectly legal.

All our starting dbs and linebackers played along with romo/eckert and probably top 6 receivers along with most of the second team, TCU and a couple other schools were also there. We did not play TCU. SMU looked great beating North Texas something like 44-3 and beating baylor with a pretty big margin too.

whatever it was, sounds like it might have been good for a little confidence. Something this program badly needs. Although with 3 wins last year, its not like last summer at this time.

that sounds great.. thank goodness that UNT patrick cobb's couldn't run the ball in 7-on-7 game...

but any good news is good news..thats funny that only eckert and romo were there, Phillip's must of had something "really important" going on..

Doesn't matter anyways if we are going anywhere Eckert will be our leader in my book

dang it, would have loved to gone out there.
I know it is NOTHING like real college football, but man would it have been great to watch some football, and see the ponies win. (even it is 7 on 7)

Yeah he must have something really important going on all summer to not show up for anything like they've said. Maybe he's following TCU's James Battle's footsteps...

He'll be transferring soon, like all of our QB's ultimately do.

Is this truly a concern?? I hope not! Chris is alot of fun to watch and we will be thin at QB next year?! right?? It seems to me that an awful lot of kids do not have a passion for the game. I would consider that when recruiting if a kid eats, sleeps football.

Coach already told him he didn't have a chance of starting even after having by far the best performance of all the QBs at the Red/Blue Game. Why bother? Stupid comment-much more stupid than Cavan benching McClown after 8 Turnovers in 2 games. I'd be surprised if he came back.
