Postby Caballo » Thu Aug 18, 2005 5:40 pm

Conference USA needs some quality wins over big named programs to establish a reputation among conferences. Winning out of conference games is essential for the stature of the new league.

Below are what appear the most difficult games on our conference mates’ out of conference schedules. What do you think will be the biggest
wins? And, how many of these games does a C-USA team have a chance to win?

UH- Oregon
Marshall–Kansas State
Memphis–Mississippi, @ Tennessee
Rice–@ UCLA, @ Texas
Southern Miss– @ Alabama
Tulane– Miss. State
Tulsa–@ Minnesota, @ OU
UAB–@ Tennessee
UCF–@ South Carolina

Not many.

Marshall might beat Kansas State;
Tulane has a chance against Miss. State;
Memphis beat Mississippi last year and this year they are at home;
I think UTEP beats New Mexico.

Hey, don't forget...SMU@A&M. Will we win? Came close a couple of times post dp, but probably not this time. However, never say never...afterall, Baylor beat them.

SMU beating Baylor and/or TCU would go a long ways towards helping CUSA's credibility. Remember...most people think we may be the worst CUSA has to offer.
