SMU, Rice and Tulsa are all in the top 20 in the country when in comes to graduating players. Fresno State, San Jose State, Hawaii, and UTEP are all in the bottom 20 (since 1995).

I am proud of SMU's graduation rates. Very few college players make it to the pro's - so they need an education!! These other schools recruit some talented athletes, knowing they are not qualified and will not be able to handle the classwork - THIS IS WRONG, WRONG!! THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE COLLEGE FOOTBALL. I wish the NCAA would crack down on this - it is time these other schools feel the heat.

Imagine Mack Brown and R.C. Slocum's recruiting classes if they had to take athletes who could graduate. Obviously many of their players do graduate, but talk about a shift in the balance of power.
