Touchdown Cody!!! I'm guessing he must have set an all-time SMU record for return yards in a game. Yep...the announcers just said he broke Doak's record. Way to go, Cody!

GO HAMPTON! Hopefully he can up his NFL chances with another great performance against Tulsa! What a year Cody is having! Gratz to Coach Bennett on pulling out a win in a tough game. Looking forward to Tulsa!

Ah, and the previous record, held by Doak, was 138 (@ Texas A&M, 1945). That was off of 10 punt returns.

I'm so happy...for once, special teams play saved us. Way to go Cody, he really deserved this.

For those of you who weren't here, let me assure you that Cody Cardwell was the player of the game - by a long shot. UTEP could do nothing to contain him. They were smart to avoid kicking off to Rutledge all day, but Cardwell gave the Ponies great field position time and time again. Without him, we lose that game yesterday.

Sorry I didn't get on and post yesterday after the game - I had to go do some bragging in some local watering holes, complete with the SMU sweatshirt, the SMU hat, etc.

Go Ponies! Beat Tulsa!

From the radio broadcast, it sounded like Cody won the game for us. With UTEP avoiding Jonas Rutledge on kickoffs, Cody won the battle of field position by himself.
Great game for a great Mustang.
