Short-yardage offense

Postby PonyFan » Thu Feb 27, 2003 8:44 pm

Try this idea:

We all heard/read about Kenard Burley as a makeshift tailback at the end of his senior season. How about when we have the ball on the goal line, throw him in at RB and Brandon Bonds at FB? If someone can stop that train, hats off to them, and they deserve to keep us out of the end zone.

OK, a bit loony. But it sure would be fun to watch!

Saw the films of him playing in the backfield. He looked like a tank running through the line and the defense trying to drag him down. Shades of Refrigerator Perry!
Long live Inez Perez!

I felt for those 170-pound guys trying to tackle Burley - until I remembered that he's coming to SMU, so I loved watching him run all over those guys.

Great idea, Ponyfan.
