I heard so much about this play and now finally, thanks to you tube, I finally seen it.

Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. The only thing that sucks is that they failed to show the pandamonium on the field after the "Miracle on 4th Street". (actually there were two miracles that day-did you'll catch Dickerson's fumble which popped right back up into his hands in full stride). Tech played so well that day.

Was that something produced by Tech? I've never seen a recap so biased towards the losing team. Kinda matter-of-fact that SMU had the miraculous return for TD.

Based on the opening where they flashed "SMU vs. Texas Tech" across the screen it looks like those highlite shorts that used to be used by the Humble Radio Network during its annual "SWC Highlites" film that it showed in its Pavilion at the Texas State Fair. That was the format that was generally used both in the opening and in the approximate length. That was always my favorite part of the Fair. I know that Humble stopped producing that highlite film right about the early 1980s. I've been told there are some more like it at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and further I've seen two I know of which came from the Humble Network that recently made it on to YouTube. TCU's board had the 1958(?) Cotton Bowl with Jim Swink and Jim Brown of Syracuse.

a mediocre Tech team whipped our [deleted] all over the field that day. Anthony Hutchison ran for 244 yards-Tech gained about 500-I'm still not sure we ever stopped them on downs in the 2nd Half. The tieing drive was stuffed down our throats. Seriously Tech outplayed that great SMU team. Two of the luckiest plays in SMU saved us.

Stallion, I was at the game and don't remember the tying drive being stuff down our throuts. What I remember is us giving them the ball on a turn over and Tech never trying to score a touchdown but rather getting in the middle of the field for the tying field goal. I also had been drinking for most of the game but this is what I remember. I just called a Tech friend who was at the game and he said the same thing. The Tech fans were not happy about not taking a shot at the endzone, but rather playing to tie us. But what a great ending and even greater plane ride home.

Yep, but we spotted them 14 points on goofup plays. The team thought
they had the week off, but managed to win on the road anyway. This
has to be an excerpt out of the Tech highlight video for the year.

Where was the "throwback" play in the SMU top play ranking countdown
from 2005? Bobby Leach had it easy strolling down the sideline. Blane
Smith was the guy in a heap of trouble trying to get a handle on it, and
then flinging it to him

The old Tech radio guy they have on here during the 4th quarter irritated
me the whole game. I was in working overtime on a project on that
Saturday, and listened to it on the radio. I guess it was a SWC
broadcast back then with the home radio people handling it.

What was so unusual about that game is that one moment you were headed to certain devastating loss and literrally a moment later there was corridor of 91 yards of open ground. The Tech fans literrally groaned because DMU had caught them so off-guard.
