Summer workouts

Postby Casey » Mon Apr 21, 2003 3:15 pm

I know they're supposed to be "voluntary" but we all know that almost the whole team participates. Who runs these things? How often will the guys meet? The coaches can't supervise, I don't think, but I'm curious what goes in to these workouts.

If I'm not mistaken, Coach Faucette or someone from his staff can supervise practice (can someone confirm?). If you remember a couple of years ago, a kid from Northwestern collapsed and eventually died during one of their summer workouts. I think strength/conditioning personnel are allowed to be there to ensure that the players are properly hydrated, stretched, etc.

No coaches are allowed. The team leaders run the practices.

Do they have trainers out there, too, in case someone twists an ankle or something? Or just strength coaches?
