Blake Miller Feature

What a great story on Coach Miller. I had no idea he was such a good player at LSU. But I like the fact that he's able to separate his intensity at practice from his off-the-field relationship with his guys. You read about coaches (Steve Spurrier at Florida, etc.) who work their guys forever at practice, but they also are able to build a bond with the players, and the players learn from those coaches and appreciate it. Maybe Coach Miller will have that kind of effect on his linemen at SMU.

Coach Miller looks like he could still play!
Hope he didn't hurt Reindl and Sterling when he head-locked them.

Sounds like a guy who will get the most out of the o-line. Good luck, Coach.

That story makes coach Miller sound like a great coach and a great guy. I hope both prove to be true, and that he gets his guys in peak fighting condition by the opener.

Assistant coaches never get enough attention. Thanks for doing this story - it's nice to learn a little about the guys who aren't in the spotlight but do endless work for the team. He sounds like a great hire.

Thanks for the insight about our new o-line coach. He sounds like a great guy. Very intense, but also realizes that football isn't the only thing in these guys' lives.

My guess is that the player who will benefit most from Coach Miller's tutelage is Brad Kieschnick. A friend of mine went to LSU when Coach Miller played there, and he said that Miller was a brawler who wanted to bury defensive linemen, not just block them. Kieschnick seemed last year to have the same attitude, and might blossom under Coach Miller.

On the roster they handed out at the Red/Blue game, Kieschnick was listed at 290 pounds. He's going to be a handful!
