CP,

If we form a conference alliance with Ark St and LA-Laffy, all we are doing is replacing 2 far away slugs (San Jose St and Nevada) with 2 even worse slugs and in time we will indeed be like Tulane….dead.

i agree with you about ark st...

i remember years back (70's or so) when frank broyles was advocating that the state of ark needs one & only one team representing it (of course the ark legislature or whatever they're called up there agreed with him) & that a two-team state like miss/miss st. would only weaken (i think the more appropriate term is meltdown) the support & recruiting base from which the razorbacks pull ... in fact, the razorbacks whole existence in the state was by design since broyles came to the hogs - in other words - arkansas was to be a one-team state ... now - if we were to consider arkansas state for a conference - i think it would be only if the legislature & governor combined backed the school (financially) as a true competitor in division 1-A including being an EQUAL RIVAL TO THE HOGS in the state of ar-kansas!

And that includes some plan for a massive upgrade of their facilities!!!!!!!

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

It'll be a shame if Tulane drops football. We need to keep a program alive in New Orleans, even if they are small-time in the state, compared to LSU.

Their fate will be decided soon. And will it dictate CUSA's fate as well?

our football program is not going to be a revenue sport...especially playing in a conference like the WAC with it's tremendous travel costs.

Let's just hope our administration realizes that whatever happens in this next round of musical chairs, our 1st priority must be to convince the decision makers at Houston & TCU that they should be competing with SMU & Rice in the same conference. Then we all need to decide whether it's in our best interests to stay local, or continue to try to make long distance relationships work.

I agree CP but we'll have a heck of a time convincing our TCU friends who are obsessed with getting into the BCS.

Glad to see that Tulane is staying Div.1-A. Image
