How can anyone hope that we dont end up in the same conference as TCU??? Not only are they our only true rival but the two schools together would be much more attractive to any conference.

LA, I seriously doubt if TCU will be invited by the MWC. If they are, a lot of the posters over there say invite SMU along with TCU as partners. I don't think either scenario will fly. TCU will still be in C-USA when SMU, Rice and possibly Tulsa get their invites.

I hope you're wrong, but I'm afraid you're not. Did anyone else see ESPN's Outside the Lines last night? Bob Ley interviewed Tulane-ex Shaun King, who was very frank about how the Tulane president might have a hidden agenda, that he simply wants to get rid of D-1 athletics there. King pointed out that despite the fact that Tulane's athletic department lost $7million last year - a figure that King questioned - football actually made revenue, despite the expense of playing in the Superdome. Maybe they should dump other sports, but winning a bowl game actually made the football program profitable. They need to keep football, and address the finances of their other sports.
