BE wants sit down with ACC

The BE Presidents sent a letter to each of the ACC presidents asking for a meeting to explain their situation and concerns. Sounds to me like they are feeling a bit like they might be about to lose a lawsuit. Will the ACC extend them the courtesy or does it say, well, if ya'll dismissed that lawsuit first, we'd be glad to talk to you?

They probably realize that they have burned their bridges with Miami. A lawsuit at this point doesn't make much sense.

I don't see anything the ACC could gain from a sitdown with the BE. They will try to get the BE teams, and if they don't, they don't. But sitting down with the BE would only open some new wounds and lead to harsh dialog between the two that would only make people look worse.

The question here is whether they can call a "truce". At the moment, the ACC holds the cards as all indications are that the BE schools will bolt for the money. The BE group can plead for both conferences to keep their share of the BCS pie, but the truth is that if the ACC backs down, what's to prevent the BE from making a run at ACC schools "off tobacco road" and expanding to 12 schools, eliminating the ACC from the BCS picture. Isn't this fun? When you've already been screwed, it's fun to sit back and watch it happen to others!

This thing looks over, and the ACC won - get ready for the ripple - I hope someone is trying to shoehorn us in somewhere - one of the CUSA replacements to whoever leaves?
