One issue between acc and ACC

Another take on the dominos...

==========
BTW- an "unnamed ACC AD" confirmed in an AP report that the only issue the ACC has left is the divisional alignment. A major p*ssing match has exploded over individual visions of the ideal situation.

Duke/UNC want a Charter division, and do not want to pay FSU/Tech/Clemson travel compensation for having to travel all teams to both Syracuse and BC. They also would like a guarantee to play Clemson (the other charter member) in every sport.

FSU/Tech/Clemson are firm on compensation, and in an act of defiance to Duke/UNC's demands, suggested that all travel partners be divided so that expenses are incurred evenly. The other 6 schools are not considering this option.

Virginia has sided with Duke/UNC on all issues, while Maryland is in favor of a Charter Division, but also believes FSU/Tech/Clemson should be compensated for having to incur the extra travel expenses.

It is a 5-4 p*ssing match about money; What else would you expect this to be about...

The AD also confirmed that neither the schools admitted (BC instead of Va Tech) nor the lawsuit is an issue at this point.

The Charlotte Observer had this story last week, but it wasn't played up in the National Media because it isn't a sexy headline.

Talk about grasping at straws. The fact is that the Big East could retain its BCS status indefinitely, but it will have to raid another conference to do it. What's funny is that they have given a roadmap to another conference to make life difficult for them. Then it trickles to the WAC, the SBC and so forth.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

Isn't it ironic that the 3 private universities from the Big East are doing this to the larger public institutions. I'm taking great pleasure from all of this and really enjoying the thought that this new powerhouse ACC will be comprised of 5 private universities. Should gives the rest of us hope, right?
