WAC 12

Postby Nacho » Fri Jun 13, 2003 11:24 am

Since at this time it looks extremely doubtful that the ACC expansion will take place, the WAC should look to go to 12 teams for the 5-2 format, which cuts expenses. The only viable candidates I see are UNT, NMSU and USU. If Boise joins the MWC then all 3 are possible. While the lawyers haggle over the BE/ACC may as well help ourselves economically and go to this much easier travel arrangement.

If the WAC loses one western member and TCU/Houston are not available and CUSA doesn't raid the WAC east, I agree the WAC should make those offers. That's a whole lot of "ifs".

To cut travel costs, doesn't the WAC almost have to jettison Hawaii?

I am the #1 Hawaii hater. Get rid of them. Nothing but lost $$$. Nothing personal.

CP what are you doing here this time of day?

Asheville is gorgeous! I love that place except my parents used to drag me to the Biltmore House when I was little. I just remember going one time in December and that place having no heat. *shudder*

a mountain getaway is nice this time of year, when Charleston is hovering at 100 degree heat index. Stayed at the Grove Park Inn, but did not get to play the course, a Donald Ross design which hosted a PGA tour event during the 50's & 60's. Anytime you want to be pampered for a weekend, I recommend this place...just make sure you bring your plastic.

I wouldn't mind a trip to NC... you can imagine how steamy Florida is right around this time of year.
