Let's talk about the 2003 season for college football.

All the conference realignment discussions will quickly evaporate once the decisions are made and what happens on the field becomes the story.

Here is Foxsports' "Top Ten Storylines for the 2003 Season." What are your Storylines?

Good to see the great Darryl Richards (former SMU beat writer from the Morning News) covering college football - a game he dearly loves.

Good story - well worth the read.

Maybe "Letterman" can offer a Top 10 of SMU storylines?

Ponyfan: Good idea for an SMU Top Ten Stories for the Year. Here is a good recap from College Football News/Foxsports on our prospects for the year:

Winning season is a possibility and that would qualify for one of ours and, perhaps, the nation's Top Ten Stories. If that happens, the country's view of us morph's signficantly.

Stallion:

I wasn't promoting their predicted finish for us, just acknowledging the detailed assessment was reasonsably balanced. My expectation/hope is to get to .500 and be a bit of a breakout story for the year. Not the Washington State or Iowa kind of turn-around or prominence, but solid success non-the-less.
