As speculation swirls around a Private School league, let's at least be accurate...

Army, Navy, Temple = PUBLIC

PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES IN DIVISION 1A:
Baylor
Boston College
Brigham Young
Duke
Miami
Northwestern
Notre Dame
Rice
Southern California
Southern Methodist
Stanford
Texas Christian
Tulane
Vanderbilt
Wake Forest

sorry... as we all play the "know-it-all" game, simple things like that just bug me...

Purdue = NOT.

From the Purdue official website:

"Public, doctoral-granting research university Indiana's land-, sea-, and space-grant university."

Army and Navy are unlike public universities. The distinction is obvious.

Sorry guys. Pitt is a public school.

Not that it matters, but Pitt has the very unusual distinction of having been private for most of its existence, and then switched to a public school in the '70s. Very strange, but true (my mother went there).
