Report: Army Gives Notice to Leave CUSA Today

Postby Stallion » Mon Jun 30, 2003 6:28 pm

the CUSA had this unconfirmed media report on its board. If true it is a BIG STEP toward the inevitable remaking of CUSA into a more southern oreinted conference once Louisville and hopefully Cincinnati leave. This is the Conference of the South that could be a decent future for our program. Hope it is true. Of course, it could mean Army intends to join SMU in that idiotic Baltimore Plan too.
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

If Copeland even considers such a plan, I say we march on his house and demand the moron's resignation.

Baltimore Plan? Is that the scenario mentioned before that included SMU, Army, Navy, Tulsa, Rice, etc.?
Sorry - didn't see the Baltimore connection there.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

Nothing on the Army site as of yet... I wonder what the exit arrangement is for an affiliate?

Maybe we'll find out...

Sounds like a long walk for you son. Image
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Sounds like BS to me. Hard to believe a radio guy in Greenville NC is breaking news on that.

Even if it is, they're going to leave eventually, or get kicked out.. so it makes sense to leave now and avoid the heftier exit fee.

BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.
