I suspect that the changes in the depth chart have something to do with summer work outs with Faucett or lack there of. What happened to Chad Meacham who was second team coming out of spring? Probably did not show for summer conditioning. I know Guidry didn't.

Watch for Desmond Jones to move into the rotation at NG/DT.

Also Matt Young lost his #2 position at FB. He didn't make summer conditioning either. I hear that Swofford has been working his [deleted] off and has moved to #2 FB. Kudos to him!

So would you rather see Jones inside, where he's got good-but-not-great size, or outside, where he could be overwhelming at DE?

Why did Guidry and Young miss summer workouts? Are they out of town? Concentrating on academics?

You heard it here first-SMU's season basically could be destroyed by the injury of a single player-Allen Adami. Not sure if we've ever entered a season with less proven depth at DT besides Adami. Relying on freshmen in the defensive line is a recipe for disaster for success this year-although it may pay off dividends in the future.

Stallion you are so right and what a scary thought in the event Allan was Knicked up for any length of time. Last season he showed to be the iron man along with Lute. Hopefully the "full attack plan" rather than the NT approach will offset the size issues at DT. With both Allan and Brent at 275 and them both being DE quick will keep them healthy. With a little luck our incoming freshmen will travel but not play thus maintaining their longevity. BTW did you know that Karrington was all(almost) everything as a senior DE and is the highest rated D-lineman we have per Phil Steele's college football review(this seasons issue). What choices do the coaches have but to use speed and pray they all stay healthy...

It appears we could be developing some depth in the LB spots...especially if any of the incoming frosh push for playing time. We will need to be deep there and hope those guys can provide out DL with much needed run support.

If the LBs are deep, maybe Faucette could slap some extra pounds on one of the bigger LBs - Cole Horton maybe? - and then he could be bumped up to the defensive line to add some numbers.
