Any expansion (merger) talk should involve SMU ....

Postby Stampede » Wed Jul 09, 2003 8:14 pm

seeing as how we have great tradition in football and our football fortunes are very much on the way up ....WAY UP ....while graduating bucoos of players at the same time. It appears our "model" is a model that will now provide championships in football and basketball. Phil Bennett told me as much.

Soon people will be saying... "Same old SMU winning championships!!!"

(Only this time the NCAA will not be involved at all.)

It would be nice if we had some recent success in football and men's basketball to make ourselves attractive to another conference. Right now, we have poor attendance, no success in football and basketball. We certainly have nowhere to go but up in these programs given that we are close to the bottom in both whenever any kind of rankings come out. Maybe our semi-decent ranking in the Sears Cup will help us out.
