oh SMU also picked up a quality walk-on QB in a kid named Ryan Rowland who lead Midland High to the State Championship game and its first Playoff ever? He's 6-2,200. The Insiders says he's 6-3 and runs a 4.59- They were the team that finally eliminated Arlington Lamar and SMU recruit Fred Turner. He was brillant in that Lamar game and in the State Title Game where he was 10-14 190 yards no Ints and 2 TDs. Remember in that Title Game Midland scored with 4:14 in the game on a 45 yard TD pass from Rowland to take the lead and again with just about :22 on another 22 yard TD pass from Rowland. Incredibly Converse Judson answered each late 4th Q scores with a FG at 1:10 and then a last second TD pass of 76 yards in the last :07 seconds of the game. It was arguably the greatest 5 minutes in Texas High School Football History and Rowland did everything possible to win the State Title. Against Lamar he was 12 of 22 for 202 yards 2 TDs passing plus another running-and I think they were all in the 2nd half. TD passes were of 35 yards and 28 yards. Pretty stout walk-on who performed unbelievable down the playoff stretch.

Thanks, Dirty Bird! I couldn't believe I got on! Phil Bennett is a CLASS ACT! Did ya notice how he responded to each caller by their name? The man knows how to promote his team and develop a relationship with the fans. Coach also was VERY excited about the return of Chris Cunningham...said he found Chris running up and down the 'grassy knoll' at the south end of Ford last Saturday in 100+ degree weather...CC told Coach he wanted to 'be ready'!

I am FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO MUSTANGS! KICK SOME A**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coach also said that priority #1 this season is: WIN!...and everything else will take care of itself!

he also said that he thinks that realignment will come sooner than expected as opposed to later-

Bennet didn't say anything when Mark F. mentioed ShanD. I take it to mean that he might not be playing this year?

That's such a shame. ShanD is a classy kid and I really enjoyed hanging around him. He had a lot of potential.. maybe something miraculous will happen for the kid Image

So our tight ends will be:
Darrin Johnson (6-6, 283)
Ryan Kennedy (6-5, 261)
and starting in 2004, Vincent Chase (6-5, 248)

I sure would hate to be a safety when those guys chug downfield with the ball in their hands.

And short-yardage situations: solved! Put two of them on the ends of the offensive line, and have the third line up as a fullback - blocking like a madman, and slipping free if the defense puts all 11 in the box.
I really shouldn't drink and type.
