First, read this article: <A HREF="http://www.dallasnews.com/sports_day/colleges/football/183550_03colfbsmu.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.dallasnews.com/sports_day/colleges/football/183550_03colfbsmu.html</A>
Now, Cavan is saying that the offense did not execute? Yes, maybe they made some mistakes, but what about the coaching errors? Briggs ran great, but not good enough to get a handoff and run 3-4 yards???????? I think not. It is time the coaches take the responsibility. If we had tried two runs and a pass, then they can say the offense did not execute, but comon, RUN THE BALL UP THE MIDDLE.
But don't run like you ran at Tulane. We were on the 4 yard line against Tulane and they had Pipkins running up the middle and Briggs running to the outside. That is poor. I think we know our RB's roles, Briggs is power(up the gut) and Pipkins is agility(to the outside). Let me wear a headset when we get inside the 5 yard line. I will make the right call.
Oh yeah, then they talk about the 49 yard FG. That was not the problem on the drive, the pass call on 2nd and 1 on the UH 30 was the poor call. RUN THE BALL, Josh or Briggs can get 1 freakin yard in three tries. Give these players some credit.
Does anyone see what I am saying. Does this make sense or is this too obvious or too complex?
