Josh McCown

Postby GrapevineMustang » Mon Sep 15, 2003 2:45 am

The former SMU QB got his first action of the season today, after Jeff Blake went out with an injury. McCown's numbers: 18-for-32 for 150 yards and two interceptions. Not good, but not horrible, considering the Cardinals were way behind Seattle when he entered the game and the Seahawks knew he would have to pass a lot.

Josh probably did as well as could be expected. The Cardinals are not competitive on either side of the ball, and that won't change in the near future with the present ownership.
A resounding 23,000 fans showed up for the home opener here in Phoenix. It could get worse.
Having McCown and the other pro QB leave Caven's program really highlights how poorly his judgement was.
It seems that many of the Jrs and Srs scholarship players have played little if at all in their career at SMU. Caven's recruiting may have had something to do with that.
Sometime in the near future I expect that if a scholarship recruit doesn't pan out for a coach they will be fired from their job. If they can flunk out of school, they can flunk out of football.

Yea it looks like McCown did have a HELLUVA outing yesterday and did EXACTLY as well as I thought. Let's see he enters to game with the score 7-0 and within 2 minutes throws an intercetion which was returned 54 yards for an interception. Then he proceeded to average a whoppoing 8 yards per completion along with another interception. The score of the game while he was in at QB was Seattle 31 Cardinals 0 McCown -6. Couldn't happen to nicer traitor-he'll be out of the league within the year.

Anyone else see the other McCown beat up on Michigan State last weekend?

450 yards passing and 2 TDs in the last 1:30 to win the game.

Why didn't Luke come to SMU????

Maybe because his brother told him how much he hated it here? Hmm..
