Was I the only one who noticed

Postby Diehard Pony » Sun Sep 21, 2003 12:58 pm

that Woods pushed off of our defensive backs (a la Michael Irvin) just prior to the ball arriving to assure seperation?? Our guys complained to the refs on several occassions, but it was never called. Bennett aluded to it in the DMN when he refered to pass interference calls against us that he thought were going to be against OSU.

Woods was still going to catch a ton of balls last night, but he was blatently pushing off and getting away with it.

the interference was going both ways, but he clearly pushed off on at least 2 of his TDs.

At least he didn't strut and showboat like Irvin. Given the enormity of what was taking place, I thought Woods was pretty classy about it.
I'm also glad he never plays SMU again.

He's done that his whole career and never gets called. He pushes off just as he makes his cut.
