Relax, but...

Postby Johnny Rock » Mon Sep 22, 2003 11:39 am

SMU fans upset with the loss need to relax. We were beat by a better team. In fact, OSU beat OU the last two years and won their bowl game last year. It is no suprise that we were beat. However, Johnny was extremely upset by the lack of game time coaching adjustments by SMU. How many times can one team run the same freak'in play....Johnny guesses 7! Woods is one of the top receivers in the country and we do not double team him? We did a few times and it work most of the time. Johnny also does not understand why our punt returner let several punts fall in front of him and roll another ten to fifteen yards. We had almost 0 return yards. The special teams play was horrible. Johnny has seen no improvement over the last five to seven years of football on the Hilltop. Bennett has a long way to go, but the ultimate responsiblity lies with Copeland. Johnny demands explanations and answers from our coaches and athletic director! For the SMU fans that attended the game, Johnny commends and applauds you all. For the alumni and students that did not attend, screw you!

OSU has beaten OU 3 of the past 4 years...

Les Miles has recruited extremely well.

Yes, it SUCKS we lost 52-6, it could have been less of a disaster, like if we had not given them 7 free points right off our first possession, and then punted the ball 5 yards for their third scoring drive to start inside the 30...

HOWEVER, no excuses, it would have been nice to have ONLY lost like 35-14...that's all I am saying.

True - OSU has beaten OU three of the last four years, and Miles has recruited like a madman. Had the Cowboys not laid an egg in Lincoln in the season-opener, we'd be talking about a loss to a top-10 team. As frustrating as it was, I'm not worried about this loss at all. If we learn from this game, we'll be a better team. And I think we will.
