...surprised none of you boys haven't pointed out that SMU leads the WAC in defense giving up something like 318 yards per game.

Wow, Rice is averaging 41.3 passing yards per game in their first four games. And yes, they are 0-4.

Some more stats:

We are 33rd nationally in total D. Bosie St. is the closest WAC opponent at 44th nationally, allowing 328 ypg. We are 41st nationally in rush defense, allowing 122.5 ypg. UTEP is 90th nationally at 176.6 ypg.

We are 48th nationally in pass defense at 196.75 ypg. Tech and OKState are the reasons we're so behind. PE defense is considerably more depressing at 82nd nationally. We have 4 INTs on the season. UTEP also has 4 INTs (against arguably MUCH weaker opponents) and is ranked 63rd nationally allowing 208.20 ypg. The interesting #s for them is that they're giving up 7.77 ypa and 1041 yards against I-AA teams.

If the Bartel and his recievers have a good game, we'll obliterate this UTEP team. Look for our first defensive TD in this game.

UTEP has 20 turnovers on the season. That's dead last in I-A.

SMU is dead least in net punting yards; Mentzel is dead last indididually. UTEP is 25th in net punting yards.
