How big is this win?

Postby Corso » Sat Oct 28, 2000 7:34 pm

There are those who discount this victory because Nevada is awful.

Not so fast my friends!

True -- the Wolfpack is awful, but a win is a win. A loss today could have been devastating. We didn't whip them as bad as we should have, but a win is a win is a win.

The most important thing is that our guys got that nasty taste of losing out of their mouths. Are we ready to challenge any NFL teams (other than the Bengals and Cowboys)? Not yet. But this is a way for the guys to get some confidence.

Go Mustangs. Beat the hell out of Rice!

Yes, a loss would be devastating, this win means a lot on the record and will maybe give some confidence, but it is not too much to be excited about. Nevada was horrible.

This is a big win. It gives the players confidence, and more importantly, it gives them a taste of what it feels like to win.

Also, we've been getting ripped for our young secondary. But you'll notice the News has been awfully quiet since a pass-happy team like Nevada only put up 7 points on us.

Pass happy, true, but that is one reason why we had so many int's, our DB's had a lot of chances. NC State was a big time passing team, let's base our DB's off of NC State not a poor team like Nevada.
