I told you the situation with Hall was just the tip of the iceberg. I didn't want to put it out there, but, since our Rivals site has posted it, Darryl Jackson has also been denied admission to SMU.

and to answer RE Tycoon's question, this was the other one alluded to.

Kid wore an SMU shirt under his gown as he graduated high school.

Tech and Louisville wanted this kid, but he held true to his commitment to SMU.

Klemm worked his [deleted] off to get this kid here.

Worst is - other conferences/schools are likely hearing of this. Just another reason that SMU is not really committed to athletic excellence. One more strike against us (we already have plenty).

I take it he was an NCAA qualifier like the other guy, correct?

I always said the "Top 25" rhetoric from Orsini was just a ploy to raise money. Until SMU starts admitting all players that meet NCAA minimum requirements then we will continue to fall short. We also do not have facilities to match other top programs like an indoor practice facility. I am really starting to sour on SMU athletics because of this stuff. I admit that Orsini tricked me into giving more money with the "Top 25" talk but this may be my last year of contributing with donations and season tickets. I know I am not the only one that feels this way.

If this keeps up June is out of here at the end of the season. And who can blame him? This is insanity.

If June leaves because of this kind of stuff, I'm going to demand a refund on my season tickets and (tiny) mustang club donation, and they can quit soliciting me for future (tiny) athletic or academic donations.

You CANNOT blame Orsini on this, he as well as everyone else involved, took Turner at his word.

*If* there are no extenuating circumstances regarding these two kids (or more... are we sure this is it?)...
and *if* June decides this is more trouble than it is worth (and who could blame him if he did?)

(and those are big *ifs*)

I'm done.

I know that for years we could blame it on the NCAA, on the unfairness of it all (after all, *everyone* was cheating, right?) or even previous administrations... there was always an excuse. Heck, if we kept trying, but failed, we had a built in excuse for the next ten years ("Conference re-alignment screwed us! If it had only come a few years later.")

But this? This is a self inflicted gunshot wound to the gut. This is purposeful sabotage, inflicted by our own people. Not to mention classless, denying the admission at the last possible moment.

No more Mustang Club. No more tickets. No more. I'm out.

I don't know if I'll flip a coin to select a team to root for, or just give up on the corrupt mess that is college football altogether.

But no more investment in SMU football. Not emotional, not economic.

I've done this once before... when Mike Cavan was coach, and I was at the Tulane game... and the kids did not know where to line up on defense vs. a trips right formation. Massive confusion in the defensive backfield each and every time they lined up that way. Tulane ran the same wide receiver screen about 20 times that game, and gained big yards at least 17 of those 20 times. That's unconscionably bad coaching. At that point, I decided, "if they don't care, I don't care" and I was out. June brought me back, because he represented an honest to God effort to improve. I swear to you, I cried when I heard that they had hired him. I *wanted* to care that badly. Now they're cutting him off at the knees.

If they don't care, then I won't care. That's all there is to it.

Before you quit, I would email Turner, using some the language in your post.
