TRIPLE-OPTION WASTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AT SMU

Postby RELATIVE-STANG » Sat Nov 15, 2003 11:10 pm

Aw----ite you triple-option hatters! I thought ya'll said the triple option was a YAWN! HUH! WHAT! B---I-DOUBLE-ITCH----A$#-----HO!. What style was kickin ace tonite!

Do ya'll wanta here alittle chant! Gimme a T, Gimme a R, Gimme a I, Gimme a P, Gimme a L, Gimme a E, Gimme a O, Gimme a P, Gimme a T, Gimme a I, Gimme a O, Gimme a N, WHATS THAT SPELL! TRIPLE-OPTION.

Who was doing the YAWNNING tonight! HUH! ats what I thought. Do you people know that SMU has the best triple-option QB in the state, along with some very fast backs who could be having a great season right now instead of just standing around doing nothing. Whats wrong with ya'll. do ya'll have a pulse or are you dead. Oh yeah! I thought you couldn't have a passing game while running the TRIPL-OPTION HUH! (Dam man) I wish we could do that don't you. Who's record would you rather have right now! The triple-option record or are's.
GO TO IT NOW. your just wasting time. :whistling:

Wake me up when you're done ranting about the triple option. It's getting older than the bread at the Mrs. Baird's Thrift Store. Quit trying to live your dream of being a D-I QB through your kid and let him play TE.

Again, here you go with your Skeeter logic and once again, like I said before, NEVER let me ever hire you as a talent evaluator. To answer the question...Of course, I would prefer to have a few wins under the belt but what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Get out of your Skeeter HS football delusional state and realize that the triple option is not the answer and neither is your kid the answer at QB. I thought Phillips looked pretty solid out there. 16 of 24 for 175 and 2 TDs. If maybe they would have let him air it out more, then it would have been even better for the team rather than having the predictable run up the middle. I'm sorry but I think Phillips has a real good shot at locking this job up now and a turn to the triple option would absurd and a waste of talent. If that's the case, then why don't get go ahead and keep getting those smurf WRs, not recruit any guys with size and just *yawn* run the ball every play. I know you get all excited about ball like that but I don't, I think it's a whip. Besides, I think this game speaks volumes about the poor play of our Defense if we gave up 168 yards and 2 TDs to a Backup TE. A Backup TE?!?!? That's about 30 percent of their offense right there on just three pass plays. It looked to me like the Defense was just simply not prepared. I had a feeling it would be shades of Navy all over again and I was right. I know you're all excited about your kid and all but, please, don't try to pass off your delusions of grandeur on us. It just simply won't happen. I think your kid could be a heck of a TE with his speed, the potential is there because he seems to be an athletic guy but please, quit arse whipping us with this Triple Option mess. It just ain't gonna happen. If you want to see the triple option, go check out your skeeters.

While we're discussing such powerhouse records, can we add Army and UTEP in there too?

Lay off the post-game boozing and let your son grow into a position he is best suited for.

Oh, so now you're trying to get on the field,eh? Oh brother, what have you been drinking or smoking because i want some of that for the TCU game. Again, what does that have to do with anything? If you ramble like your mouth does, probably not. Then again, if you ran like that, I'd offer you a scholarship and put you in the backfield. I just feel like your constant blabbering about the triple option is getting stale. You could run the T formation out there against our defense and still look like an offensive guru. Heck, I bet we could take a pre forward pass era offense and it'd still work. I think that from what I saw of Chris Phillips today, he has a lot of potential to solidify the QB position. I say give him a full season and we'll start to see a difference. Again, no knock on your kid but let him be. You remind me of someone who I know who's kid plays HS football here in the area. He's the guy who thinks he knows what's best for his kid and the team and gets to the point to where he goes up to the press box and starts telling the coaches what they should and should be doing during the game. Give it up. Gimme a G, Gimme an I Gimme a V, Gimme an E, Gimme an I, Gimme a T, Gimme a U, Gimme a P. What's that spell? Give it up!

Well, I once scored 4 TDs in a game for Polk High back in my High School Days. I'd have been a big time college player too if I hadn't knocked up that redhead.

Oh man I never shout at coaches, just knckle heads who don't know whats up and I never give up on anything I just pour it on more when the going gets tough. The problem our defense had tonight was trying to read and defend an offensive scheme with multiple formations and weapons. It looked like we where setting in a base-D all night or more like on the ropes covering up for the next big over hand right after a combo. To many punches to read. by the way how come your the only complaint I get out of a site that gets as many hits as this one does. Hum! could it be that there might be some who agree out there. Alright man I tired of scoring on you. I do enjoy chat'en with ya though! Later.

I really don't see a lot of people crawling out of the woodwork to support you either. I wouldn't call anything that you've said "scoring on me." Hard to consider it "scoring on me" when most of what you propose makes no sense, just like the question about which QB should I take.
I just feel that if you really want to get kids to come to this university, the triple option is not the way to do it. Recruits, especially WRs and QBs, want to catch and throw the ball and they're not going to get that in the triple option, unless they are backup TE's at Rice. While the triple option can be an effective offense, I don't think it would be a good selling point for recruits.
I don't take anything that you say personally and conversely, I hope that you don't take anything I say personal as well. I just feel that the triple option isn't a viable offense for the future of this team. Of course, I am a supporter of the pro-style offense or anything that calls for passing the ball. Then again, I am at the point now where if a Wing T works, lets use it but honestly, I think that if you want kids to come here, you have to have some sort of pro-style or "fun and gun" offense. Otherwise, they'll just go elsewhere where they can get their catches.
