Tech had 430 yards Total Offense in first half before a late sack

Lots of silver benches in person to watch this one.

hard to tell because they mostly show Baylor side but a rough estimate 45,000? Maybe less-that upper deck hold a bunch now and its mostly empty. Sounds like TCU outdrew two BCS schools in off campus game. Tech's self asserted claim of bringing the DFW Market takes a hit

Watching Virginia Tech beat Central Michigan, because I can't stand Baylor or Tech.

VaTech would obliterate both of those teams.

If the stadium now holds 96K(?), that seems in the ballpark. The opening shots showed plenty of open space so unless it was a late-arriving crowd, the situation didn't improve dramatically.

My guesses for the day:
SMU - 17.5K
BU/TTU - 44K
TCU - 35K
A&M/UA - 65K
UNT - 20K

I haven't seen estimates but I'd bet A&M/Arkansas has more than 65,000. Hmm DMN predicts only 55,000-60,000

Both D coordinators should be flogged at midfield.

How exciting is Tech-Baylor? It inspires talk of the attendance at Hawg High/Aggie High! (At least that game has Ryan Mallett.)

Robert Griffin is pretty damn good. If he was at at National Spotlight school, people would be talking about Griffin rather Terrelle "wobbly Ball" Pryor. Better athlete, better runner, better passer

They drew 71K last year. http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=292760008

More interest or less this year?

That has to qualify as the upset of the day (so far).

Yeah, Griffin's pretty good.

I'd actually call them a wash on passing. Griffin is more accurate, but Pryor has a strong arm, which allows him to make some throws — sometimes on-target, sometimes not on-target — that I don't know if Griffin can make.

As runners, I'd say it's pretty even, too, depending on the offensive system. Griffin clearly is more elusive, but Pryor is a stronger runner — not just running through the occasional arm-tackle, but also having the strength to maintain his balance when he gets hit while throwing, etc.

No question, though, that you're right about the benefit Pryor enjoys by playing at Ohio State instead of a crap school in a crap town like Griffin does.
